Microchipping

A microchip can provide a lifetime of permanent identification if your dog or cat gets lost.

Microchips are considered the gold standard in permanent identification for our pets. These rice-grain sized capsules are injected into the subcutaneous layer of the animals skin and can be imperative in the reunification of pets should they go missing. Injecting a Microchip can take as little as 5 minutes and can be done as an outpatient appointment or combined with any surgical procedure.

Why should I microchip my pet?

Microchips are permanent forms of identification that cannot be destroyed or separated from your pet’s body, unlike ID tags and collars. A microchip can be the only thing that gets you reunited with your pet should they ever get lost. There are cases of pet parents getting back their furry friend years after being separated with the use of a microchip. Though we hope your pet doesn’t take that long to return home it’s always better to be prepared.

How can I update my information placed on a microchip?

Pet ownership information is saved in a database depending on the brand of the microchip. If your contact information changes, you can reach out to the microchip company where the microchip is registered to have the details updated.
