Adoption

Helping pet parents find cats to welcome into their loving homes.

Every pet deserves a loving and caring home. In 2013, all of us at Fraser Valley Animal Hospital made a commitment to finding forever homes for cats in need. Since then, we have successfully found homes for over 100 of our furry friends. We also help our community find their forever friends through adoptions. If you are ready to welcome a pet into your family, you can complete the adoption form and be added to our list.

Why is adopting better than buying a cat?

By adopting a cat in need, you are saving it from potentially being euthanized. In Canada, 40% of dogs and cats that end up in shelters are euthanized.

I want to place my cat up for adoption. What can I do?

If you are looking for options to re-home your cat and need help and guidance, don’t hesitate to call us at 604-854-2313 and we will help you through it.

What are some things to know before adopting a cat?

This is a long-term commitment that requires dedication. Some cats live up to 20 years or more. Doing research beforehand is always a good idea. Understand the commitment and ensure that you have the capacity to take care of a feline friend. Cats also require additional items such as toys (to keep them active) and a litter box with litter that is changed frequently. Establishing a relationship with a veterinarian is also important to keep them happy and healthy.
